Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted – A Mini Review

I watched Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted couple of weeks back at Liberty Cinema at Kollpity. Even-though the story was bit predictable and common it was still enjoyable. For me Madagascar was never about a story but if was about the animals and the monkeys and the penguins.

This version on Madagascar  incorporated more music, including the best version of “I like to Move it” yet. But the movie has lot more music than just that song and as result  “I like to Move it” is pushed to end credits. But that wasn’t a bad thing. With the car chases, circus, and some fighting this could also be the most action packed Madagascar.

It’s a common story where some one in trouble find another person/group who are also in a trouble and then decide to use those people to get out of the trouble. This will require the first party to work together with the second party in a way that both benefit and form a bond. But at some point the first party has to dump the second party to go on their own way. And second party figure that out at some point and get emotional. This is a concept that has been used so many times. But this movie had so many things to enjoy. Therefore having a not so original story was not a big deal.

My favorite parts of the movie include the banana gun sequence with a mad French animal control officer doing bullet time, monkey powered helicopter with a built-in Wrap drive, car chase, and of course the animal only circus.

I watched this in a 2D theater but some of the sequences should look really cool in 3D. Liberty at Kollpity is done screening this movie. But Savoy 2 is now screening it. That might be a good experience even-though it is a smaller screen. Watching Madagascar  was indeed time well spent.
