Path to SharePoint – A SharePoint Blog Worth Bookmarking

March 17, 2010 | By Rakhitha | Filed in: Me, Myself & I, Tech.

I am not a web guy. I have studied php, perl, ASP, ASP.Net, Java Servlets and JSP. I have done few websites with them for fun, studies as well as at my workplace. I have spent about a year working mostly on the web client at my workplace.

But I mostly work on desktop and server-side applications at my job, using C++ and C# and Oracle PLSQL. I spent most of my study time studying java technologies. But when given a challenge, I am one of those guys who never say no. I just do whatever I am given. It helps to keep life interesting. Sitting at a desk and writing code using same language/tool to develop same application can be boring at times.

Ok! I am not writing my resume here. I just wanted to say few words about my background before I share the link to a blog which saved my ass in one of my latest assignments at workplace.

There was this internal project for restructuring internal company website. Somehow I got to in the team. Website was built using SharePoint. I had not used SharePoint before. It was a completely new experience for me, but it was fun. But there were times I was hopelessly stuck, and SharePoint web simply did not let me do what I wanted to do with it.

But I finally found this blog. It provided few neat tricks to get around most of those issues. It has many powerful ways of using SharePoint features to get the job done, with minimum amount of coding.  It’s called Path to SharePoint. If you are doing some share point related work it may come handy.
